We acknowledge that we reside on Treaty 6, Treaty 7, and Treaty 8 Territory as well as the Six Regions of the Métis Nation within what is now called Alberta. This land is the traditional territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy – Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika – the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation and the Métis People of Alberta. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived alongside and cared for these lands since time immemorial and who continue to do so today. We also take the time to recognize the importance of Indigenous voice in activism, and encourage everyone to seek Indigenous knowledge and perspectives in their work. We are all Treaty People.
